white magic

“There are many types of white in this world. There is the pristine white of a dove
feather, the Colgate white of brushed teeth, the ivory white of an elephant’s tusk,
the plain white rustling of bond paper, the foamy white frolic of sea froth and
good ol’ egg white. You might even chance upon the withered, emaciated white
of age or the dull tarnished white of eccentricity. Now and then you may walk in
on the inexorable whiteness of silence; but, believe me when I say that nothing,
NOTHING compares with Nirma White.

It is the stunning colourlessness that remains behind when all the other colours have turned tail and sped off into deserted alleyways”

P.S. This is an excerpt from a piece I wrote when I was in college for ‘Raga’ the Malhar newspaper. quite old actually…but well
